The goal of SoTL is to "improve one's own teaching practice through innovations in pedagogy and curriculum and serve as a model for others" (Columbia Science of Learning Research Institute, 2020, p.7). Disciplinary-based education research, on the other hand, has a goal of producing more generalizable findings that can be applied to the teaching of a particular discipline. The pages below contain examples of disciplinary-based education journals as well as, in some cases, example articles, monographs, and other resources.
