Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Resource Guide (Centre for Learning & Teaching)

The journal proceeds from the principle that teaching and learning are social practices that are informed by social values. As a result, we seek articles that articulate and explore the implications of the (often tacit) conceptual, social and philosophical underpinnings of teaching and learning in psychology.

PLAT is an international peer-reviewed journal devoted to enhancing knowledge of how to improve learning and teaching of psychology. To this purpose, PLAT publishes research articles, reviews, target articles and corresponding comments as well as reports on good and innovative learning, teaching and assessment practices. Through PLAT, it is hoped to establish a culture of scholarship in relation to teaching and learning in psychology and related areas.

A new APA journal that features teacher-ready reviews of current research and contemporary theories as well as empirical research designed to foster systematic intentional changes to improve teaching and learning outcomes. Our mission is to leverage psychological science to provide resources that integrate research, theory, and practice to benefit high school, community college, college, and university educators and their students.

This indispensable journal offers creative and hands-on articles that help you use a variety of resources (for example, technology as a teaching tool) to enhance student learning. Coverage includes research on teaching and learning; studies of teacher characteristics and student learning; reviews for class use; student, course, or teacher assessments; discussions of professional challenges; critical thinking exercises, curriculum designs, demonstrations and laboratory projects; and news.

The Society for the Teaching of Psychology (a division of the APA) advances understanding of the discipline by promoting excellence in the teaching and learning of psychology. The Society provides resources and services, access to a collaborative community, and opportunities for professional development. The Society also strives to advance the scholarship of teaching and learning, advocate for the needs of teachers of psychology, foster partnerships across academic settings, and increase recognition of the value of the teaching profession.
