Summarize and Write

An image of a pencil writing.Once you have searched for information, read, thought about, and synthesized your information, it is time to write your essay or assignment, or to prepare your presentation.

A strategy that can really help you to get started writing, is to first make a point-form outline of what you want to say. This outline will help you stay organized and will drive the writing process.

Plus, if you're having trouble getting started, don't think that you automatically have to start at the beginning with the introduction. Start anywhere and then fill in the areas you haven't written about. Often the biggest hurdle to writing is just getting started. So, start anywhere!
