ICIS Chemical Business Supplier
The Supplier Search tab allows you to find information on suppliers by product/service, CAS number or company name.
FYI: CAS= Chemical Abstract Services registry number (e.g. 58-08-2 is the CAS Registry Number for caffeine). To find a CAS number use the Hawley's Condensed Chemical Dictionary.
There are a number of ways to find chemical prices by searching the ABI Inform Global database. Try either of the methods below to discover specific information about chemical pricing.
Click the link above and use the following advanced search string, which uses the classification code 8640 (Chemical industry):
CC(8640) AND SU(prices)
Which follows this strategy:
1. Enter 8640 into the search box and change the field to Classification Code (8640 is the Classification Code for the Chemical Industry).
AND
2. Enter "prices" into the search box and change the field to All Subjects & Indexing
NOTE: If you are looking for pricing for a specific chemical, add an additional search box with the operator "AND" and enter the chemical name into the search box.
Click on the link above and use the following search string:
SO (Chemical Week) AND "CW Price Report"
Which uses the follows this strategy:
1. Enter "Chemical Week" into the search bar and change the field to Journal Name.
AND
2. Enter "CW price report" (with the quotation marks to search for the phrase.)
There are a number of ways to search for chemical pricing within the Business Source Complete database. Use either of the following methods to learn more about pricing.

Enter Key Indicators in the search box by placing TI before the words you choose:

Click on the link above and use the following search string:
SU prices NOT SU "stocks -- prices" AND IC ( 3251* OR 3259* )
Which uses this search strategy:
1. Enter Prices in the search box and change the field to SU Subject terms
NOT
2. Enter "stocks -- prices" and change the field to SU Subject Terms
AND
3. Enter NAICS codes for the chemical and petrochemical industries (3251* OR 3259*) in the search box and change the field to IC NAICS Code or Description.
Other chemical price sources: There are other journals that occasionally produce information on chemical prices. It is difficult to list them all because the list changes frequently; however, it is possible to show price lists from the entire group of journals.
This website provides information on chemical suppliers and prices. To obtain prices you must fill out the request form and the information will be e-mailed to you.
Chemical Register has an extensive list of domestic and international suppliers. To receive prices you will have to select a supplier and contact them directly.
The journal Chemical Week contains a list of prices for selected chemicals in every publication. They also produce a yearly buyers’ guide.
ICIS Chemical Pricing: Student Edition
ICIS Chemical Prices, Student Edition lists chemical prices for several hundred selected chemicals from 2006-2008. All of the prices appear in US dollars.

Sigma-Aldrich is a company that produces biochemical and organic chemical products and kits. Chemical prices are available in their online product catalog. The default page is set to Sigma-Aldrich Canada. You can change the location to one of the many of countries in which Sigma-Aldrich operates.
