The Sir James Dunn Law Library occupies four floors in the Weldon Law Building with bright, comfortable space for study and research. The print and digital holdings offer substantial Canadian and international common law materials and commentary. A capable staff provides reference and support services for students, faculty and other users.

Novanet Express and Interlibrary Loans
If you need a book or article not available at the Law Library, we may be able to obtain it for you through Novanet Express or Document Delivery. If you need assistance with requesting materials, please visit the library.
The Law Library Learning Commons on the 2nd (main) floor has 16 student computers and two public access terminals. There is also a digital scanner and a microform/microfiche reader/scanner.
In addition, there is a ACS computer lab on the 1st floor with approximately 42 scholar workstations. You must have a Dalhousie NetID to log into the scholar workstations. If you do not yet have a NetID, you can set up your account online.
If you have a Dalhousie NetID, you will be able to connect to the Dalhousie Wireless Network.
There is a DalCard copier on the 2nd floor. You must have money on your DalCard in order to use it.
All students registered at Dalhousie Law School are entitled to passwords to the key Canadian legal databases used in the professional practice of law. These passwords are not available to students outside the law school. Information sessions and training will be provided.
We also subscribe to many other commercial and academic law databases. Please speak to the library staff if you require access to other databases.
