Travelling Within a Community
This section of the guide covers municipalities, the smallest directly designated unit of government in Canada (generally representing localities: villages, towns, cities, etc.). Services funded by this level of government generally focus on connecting residents to destinations within a single community.
Most often, local transportation is provided by buses, accepting exact cash fares or (in larger cities) specific payment cards. These buses usually travel between dedicated outdoor stops and shelters. Although buses tend to be punctual within five to ten minutes, punctuality can often be effected by Canada's general lack of bus lanes.
Local municipalities do not always publish their routes electronically, and as such, the best way to find timetables and maps for your town or city's network is likely to be through their website.
