Searching for OER is not so different from searching for any other kind of resource.

  • Start by finding a database that works for you, something that's easy to navigate, reliable, and suit your subject
  • Create a list of search terms and keywords
  • Combine search terms with Boolean operators (AND, OR, NOT)
  • Consider narrowing your search by material type (assignment, online course, etc.), subject, or audience 
  • If you'll be combining this resource with one of your own, search by license or public domain where applicable
