The journal proceeds from the principle that teaching and learning are social practices that are informed by social values. As a result, we seek articles that articulate and explore the implications of the (often tacit) conceptual, social and philosophical underpinnings of teaching and learning in psychology.
PLAT is an international peer-reviewed journal devoted to enhancing knowledge of how to improve learning and teaching of psychology. To this purpose, PLAT publishes research articles, reviews, target articles and corresponding comments as well as reports on good and innovative learning, teaching and assessment practices. The Society for the Teaching of Psychology (a division of the APA) advances understanding of the discipline by promoting excellence in the teaching and learning of psychology.
