Created by a Working Group at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the PHIL offers an organized, universal electronic gateway to CDC's pictures. The content is organized into hierarchical categories of people, places, and science, and is presented as single images, image sets, and multimedia files.
Streaming videos show peripheral venous access, arterial blood gas sampling, phlebotomy/venous blood sampling, urinary catheterization (male and female), thyroid status assessment, and the gross anatomy of the head and neck and the pelvis and perineum.
Weekly podcasts are provided on a number of topics such as grand rounds from Harrison's Online, Fitzpatrick's case of the month, and a variety of updates for books such as Hursts' The Heart and Williams' Obstetrics. On-campus access only.
Nature publishing group releases regular podcasts on a variety of topics including systems biology, genetics, neuroscience and stem cells. There is also a podcast related to items covered in their weekly journal Nature.
