Immigration and Refugee Law

The Georgetown Immigration Law Journal is a scholarly publication that is dedicated to the advancement of legal knowledge in the field of immigration law. The Journal is published three times a year and is dedicated to exploring and critically analyzing international and domestic events as they shape the field of immigration law. Each issue features articles by scholars and legal practitioners, as well as a significant number of student notes and a section reviewing current developments in immigration.

The International Journal of Refugee Law is the leading peer-reviewed journal on all aspects of international law relating to forced migration. As predicted by the Times Higher Education Supplement, it has become a key source for those working in the field of refugee protection. The journal is an essential tool for academics, policymakers and practitioners concerned with the protection of refugees and other forced migrants. It publishes high-quality articles on issues at the forefront of the law on forced migration, rigorous analysis of refugee law jurisprudence and State practice, as well as scholarship on the history and evolution of refugee law. It also contains summaries of recent key cases from around the world and important documents relating to international protection.

The Immigration & Nationality Law Review anthologizes a yearly collection of exceptional immigration scholarship published in other law journals around the country. It is one of the two major student-edited American law journals focused on immigration and nationality issues.

The Journal of Refugee Studies (JRS) provides a forum for exploration of the complex issue of forced migration and local, national, regional and international responses. The Journal publishes original, high-quality research and covers all categories of forcibly displaced people. Contributions that develop theoretical understandings of forced migration, or deepen knowledge of concepts, policies, practice and experiences of displacement are welcomed, as well as submissions that advance methodological debates and new approaches to researching forced migration. JRS is a multidisciplinary scholarly journal; articles published in JRS should make a clear, analytical contribution to the field of refugee and forced migration studies, e.g. through theoretical, historical, comparative and/or methodological advances.

Refuge: Canada’s Journal on Refugees is a non-profit, independent, open access, interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed, bilingual journal. Founded in 1981, it publishes analytical, reflective, and probing articles from a wide range of disciplinary and regional perspectives, presenting writings of academics, policy-makers, and practitioners in the field of forced migration. The journal provides space for discussion of emerging themes and debates, as well as ongoing topics. It also features a book/film review section and occasionally publishes special issues on specific themes related to forced migration.

One of the oldest refugee studies publications in the world, the Refugee Survey Quarterly (RSQ) is an online only, peer-reviewed journal that publishes work at the intersection of research, policy, and practice in the refugee and forced displacement fields from a range of disciplinary and interdisciplinary perspectives.

The Journal of Migration and Refugee Issues is a refereed journal focusing on legal and policy issues underpinning the movement of people across national borders. It accepts articles on a wide range of issues, including international migration patterns, changing migration trends and the rights of non-citizens, refugees and internally displaced people, government and civil responses to refugee flows, and more.
