The European Union is a multinational political union that was established in 1993 with the signing of the Maastricht Treaty. It includes 28 member states concentrated primarily in western and central Europe.
It consists of two legislative branches (European Parliament and Council of the EU), an executive branch (European Commission) and a judiciary (Court of Justice of the EU).
Collectively these institutions set policy and make decisions.
Most of our print European Union documents are located on the second floor of the Killam Library under the general classification of 5EC, however many longer documents are located throughout the main stacks. The easiest way to locate these documents is to search Novanet by publisher with the search term "European Union".
