Searching for Journals

If you're searching for a journal to publish in, you can utilize Scopus to conduct a review of the journals within your subject area or field. This is a helpful tool because

  1. You can search for journals by subject area
  2. Scopus has a measure of research called CiteScore, which rates journals on the basis of citation counts
  3. You can filter for journals based on Open Access status

To do this, access Scopus through the Health Science Resources page, and select Sources at the top right of the page. Then, select the subject area along the top of the page, and select any additional filters along the left of the page.

However, it is also important to note that citation rates do not necessarily corelate with journal quality. These numbers represent an average across multiple years, and should not be used to evaluate the quality of a single article.
