Mineral Industry Surveys (MIS) are periodic on-line statistical and economic publications designed to provide timely statistical data on production, distribution, stocks, and consumption of significant mineral commodities. These publications are issued monthly, quarterly, or annually.
The Society for Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration (SME) is an international society of professionals in the minerals industry. The SME membership is more than 11,500 strong, with members in nearly 100 countries.
This is the Statistics site of the Minerals and Metals Sector (MMS). MMS is mandated to collect and publish statistics on mineral exploration, development, and production under the Resources and Technical Surveys Act. The surveys undertaken by the MMS are census-based and used by Statistics Canada in the System of National Accounts.
